Larger Mushroom Grows

Using Mycelium-Magic on the industrial cultivation of mushrooms.

Using Mycelium-Magic when cultivating the fruiting bodies of oyster mushrooms, the stimulating effect of Mycelium-Magic on their formation and development was revealed.

  • Primordia appeared faster by 2-3 days, fruiting bodies formed earlier by 1-5 days.
  • The predominant effect on the yield and growth of oyster mushrooms was exerted by Mycelium-Magic diluted with 100 ml of Mycelium-Magic per 10 liters of water.
  • The caps and stems of the mushrooms have noticeably increased. When adding 30–40 ml of the Mycelium-Magic preparation to the mushroom substrate, the harvest increased by 92.9%.
  • On average, the weight of a batch of mushrooms with the addition of Mycelium-Magic exceeded the weight of a batch without Mycelium-Magic by 56%.
  • The results of a chemical analysis of this mushroom after using Mycelium-Magic showed a increase in fat in oyster mushroom bodies by 20.5%, fiber by 18%, calcium by 18%, phosphorus by 14.8%, and 8.8% protein and 2.2% ash.
  • It was found that Mycelium-Magic, which was introduced into prepared compost at a dose of 25 ml in each container, had a positive effect on productivity, on the rapid growth of mycelium, germination energy, and the rate of formation of primordia.

During the formation of mycelium in compost with the preparation Mycelium-Magic, the following was revealed:

  • Day 3, the mycelium fluffed up, and mediocre hyphae began to be visible on the grains.
  • Day 5, already under aerobic conditions in the container, the mycelium intensively fluffed up.
  • Day 13, development began to appear more clearly in the compost with Mycelium-Magic (proportions 1:1500).
  • Day 20, cover soil was placed in the container. On the 28th day, mycelium appears on the soil surface.
  • Day 35 and 37, the mycelium began to form and form primordia.
  • Day 39, the primordia were in the bud stage.
  • Day 40, all fruiting bodies entered the “closed mushroom” stage.

In general, thanks to the use of the Mycelium-Magic when cultivating mushrooms, the yield increased by 47%.

Making aqueous solution of Mycelium-Magic

Shake bottle

Mix Mycelium-Magic with clean room temperature water at the rate of
1ml per 1 liter (filtered or chlorine free water is best or cooled boiled water),

Some mushroom types may benefit from larger amounts up to 10ml per liter.

Only Make up the amount of Mycelium-Magic you need as the aqueous solution should be used within 24 hours for maximum effects.

Storage
Store the Mycelium-Magic concentrate in a cool and dark location use within 12 months.
Do not refrigerate just keep on a cool location do not freeze.

HOW TO USE

After 2-3 days the cover soil / casing is watered twice with an aqueous solution of Mycelium-Magic containing a stable association of both aerobic and anaerobic soil microorganisms, with a concentration of 1.0 to 1.2 ml/l .

Subsequent watering of the cover soil / casing with an aqueous solution of Mycelium-Magic with a concentration of 1.0 to 1.2 ml/l is carried out after harvesting the first wave of mushrooms. Many Find it convenient to use a spray bottle to gently mist the surface.

How to use Mycelium magic (other methods).

There is not really a right and wrong way to use mycelium magic.
Depending on variety of mushroom you are going may require some experimentation on your behalf to get maximum growth.

We have done both large and small scale testing and these are the methods we recommend for the home mushroom grower such as those using a monotub.

Method 1 (Monotub grows such as Coco Coir + Vermiculite + Gypsum (CVG) Substrate)

After propering your mushroom substrate, when adding it into your monotub add the mycology-magic solution that you have mixed with water.
All you need is around 25ml of the made up aqueous solution.

Method 2 (Monotub misting use instead of method 1)

Once your Monotub is setup allow 2-3 days then using a spray bottle spray the soil/casing layer with aqueous solution of Mycelium-Magic twice 1 day apart.

Method 3 (After first harvesting)

Using a spray bottle mist the soil/casing with an aqueous solution of Mycelium-Magic after harvesting the first wave of mushrooms.

Method 4 (grain spawn)

High quality mushroom grain spawn is fundamental to any mushroom growing project. Grain spawn is mushroom mycelium grown on grain (rice, wheat, millet, etc.) that is later added to substrate such as CVG. To speed up growth a few ml of the aqueous solution of Mycelium-Magic may be added after sterilization process just before adding mushroom liquid culture or spawn.

If growing in a bag or bucket a few ml maybe introduced. Bags a few ml injected via the port on the bag before shake and break stage.
Buckets a few mls can be added at any stage depending on personal preference.

Tips

Of course if you are only misting a single monotub you most likely wont want to make up a full liter instead try making up 250ml with 1/4 ml of Mycelium-Magic and 250ml water.
